Help our visitors enjoy a perfect day at Winkworth. We need you to be an ambassador for Winkworth, as well as to provide information so visitors get the most out of their visit.

What You'll Do:

Whilst construction works are still ongoing, your role will be key to helping visitors navigate the arboretum and make the most of their visit. You will be part of the team ensuring every element of a visitor’s time with us is perfect.

Specifically, you will:
- Provide warm welcomes to all visitors
- Help visitor orientate themselves and navigate the site
- Promote the National Trust as a charity alongside our conservation messages
- Help with fundraising
- Keep the site safe by helping with facilities checks, litter picking, cleaning signage and monitoring the car park
- Know and follow the health & safety and evacuation procedures for the site
- Develop a good knowledge of Winkworth and share what makes our place special with visitors

There is always lots going on at National Trust properties so there will occasionally be other activities that are of interest to you that you can get involved with.

As we near the completion of works and our opening in July 2024, you will have the opportunity to undertake upskill training and specialise in different areas of operations onsite as we understand more what our new day-to-day will look like. Upskilling could see you champion all sorts of different roles including guided walks, memberships, retail, or visitor welcome, to name but a few!

Why You'll Love It:

Gain a sense of satisfaction by helping visitors enjoy their day
Meet people from all walks of life and make new friends
Work alongside an enthusiastic and varied team
Enjoy being in this beautiful place with its important arboriculture heritage

What You'll Learn:

Specialise as a volunteer champion and gain valuable life and work skills

What We're Looking For:

Someone who enjoys meeting people, has a cheerful, friendly, and helpful nature and enjoys working as part of a team but is also self-motivated and happy to roam the site independently.
Passionate about great customer service and the National Trust as a whole.
Happy working outside in all weathers
Available regularly, whether that is once or twice a week or once or twice a month.
