Marine & Wildlife Conservation Programme

What You'll Do:

Volunteer in Sri Lanka! Join our Marine & Wildlife Conservation team and help make an impact by working with wild animals and improving their habitat. Have an adventure of a lifetime alongside other university students from all over the world!

Marine & Conservation Programme combines a number of varied sub-projects which aim to rehabilitate and conserve the environment and marine life in Sri Lanka. Each week the volunteers take part in all the activities listed below:

-Jungle replantation – Head into the jungle to help replant the indigenous trees. Once they have been planted the trees will be recorded and monitored.
-Tree Nursery – Our tree nursery is where we grow all our trees which we take to be replanted.
-School Agriculture project – Work at a local school helping grow fruit and vegetables to support the local community.
-Turtle Hatchery – Feed, clean, apply medicine and release injured turtles back into the ocean. Do this and more at our turtle hatchery on the beach!
-River Clean-up – Cruise down the rivers in Sri Lanka taking in all the rubbish you can!
-Beach Clean-up – Spend your morning on a beautiful Sri Lankan beach litter picking.

Remember the Travelteer team will always be here to lend a hand if you need assistance with any of your roles!

You can join the team anytime from January to September. We offer placements from 2 weeks to 9 months! You will volunteer for approx. 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday each week – which means you have your evenings and weekends off to spend at the beach or travel!
