Unit leader or regular helper

Unit leader or regular helper

What You'll Do:

We are looking for enthusiastic females over 18 to come and help run units for girls in the Guildford area.
We have opportunities for people to help out in the following sections.
Rainbows aged 5-7, Brownies aged 7-10, Guides aged 10-14
The locations we are primarily looking for help in are Stoughton, Rydes Hill, Wood Street, Bellfields, Burpham, Merrow and Onslow Village. But other locations can be considered.
Meetings tend to take place weekly in term time and early evening from around 5.00 or 5.30 for Rainbows lasting an hour, and start times of 5.30 to 6.30 for Brownies and Guides lasting around an hour and half.
No experience is necessary and full training on the job will be given. You will be required to undertake a DBS check and if you continue to be a leader, then there is first aid & safe space training too.
Being a leader or regular unit helper means giving a commitment to the unit you are helping with on a weekly basis. We have strict ratios to adhere to for adult to children so need to have a commitment.
You would be helping to organise games, sessions of crafts or themed nights or challenges as appropriate for the age you are working with. There are usually termly planning meetings in the small team and you would all prepare & share out what is happening so you will always know whats going on , one week to the next.
Helping with Girlguiding is fun and rewarding as you see the enjoyment that it gives the girls instantly each week.
There are opportunities for outings and holidays too , both with the girls or with leader team days or social events, both in the UK & abroad.
