Our vision is for people to improve their wellbeing and independence to get the most from later life. Our aim is to provide services, support and activities across Surrey to enable people to be resilient throughout the changes and challenges of later life.
ABOUT US: 

Age UK Surrey is an independent local charity providing services across the whole of the county to help people aged 50+ make the most of their life
We have been established for over 50 years and are a brand partner of Age UK and a member of the Age England Association.

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS: 

We aim to help older people LIVE: an enjoyable, fulfilling and dignified life a life free of: Isolation, loneliness, poverty, abuse We: respect everyone work collaboratively and offer support.
We Seeing an individual as their own unique person ensuring people are at the centre of decisions which relate to their. life 
A person centred process involves listening, thinking together, coaching, sharing ideas, and seeking feedback.
We are experts in older people’s issues and provide free impartial and confidential information and advice on a variety of topics. 
We offer a wide range of services to support people to stay living at home longer.

OUR AWARDS: 
Advice Quality Standard Award On 4 October 2017 Age UK Surrey’s Information & Advice Department achieved the Advice Quality Standard (AQS); The Age UK Charity Quality Standard (CQS) fits alongside our existing ISO 9001 certification to demonstrate the quality of our performance as an organisation.‘ Innovation in the Voluntary Sector’ Award for our Men in Sheds project at the Innovate Guildford 2017 Awards.
THINGS WE ARE PROUD OF: 
Our impact in the community; In 219-2 we helped clients claim over £2.6m of benefits; our Volunteer Team help us optimise our impact across our wide range of services; Volunteers with technical skills offer IT/Tech Support to our clients; Volunteers with a range of skills enable us to support our clients with healthy walking, social sessions, visiting patients in hospitals; capturing the life stories of older people; offering befriending friendship in communities and through telephone support; our community centre gives a place for those to meet and enjoy the facilities; workshops for those who are isolated to utilise their craftwork and carpentry skills.

Commitment, dedication, reliability and the desire to support older people and improve their lives and help alleviate loneliness and isolation. Ability to commit to 6+ months of volunteering.
