FareShare Warehouse Team

If you are looking to develop your work skills, give back to the community or just want to meet new people, come and join our team in Guildford!

What You'll Do:

This role involves:

Picking stock and labelling orders for deliveries.

Occasionally going on the van with the driver on a delivery.

Sorting food and restocking shelves.

Loading and unloading the van/deliveries.

Heavy lifting (no more than 10KGs).

Recording van temperatures and taking signatures on deliveries.

Providing a high level of customer service to our member organisations.

Representing FareShare Sussex and Surrey out in the community.

Why You'll Love It:

Our warehouse is the hub of the charity! This is where all of the surplus food and donations are delivered ready to be sorted and then packed for distribution.

We rescue surplus food from businesses, supermarkets and farms. This food is nutritious, in date, and safe and includes a high proportion of fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. If we did not rescue this food, it would be at risk of going to waste. Instead, we deliver it to charities, schools, food banks, community pantries and fridges and other organisations serving vulnerable people.

A fun fact - on average, for each hour volunteered, 114 meals were re-distributed to those who really need it across Sussex and Surrey.

What We're Looking For:

Skills helpful for this role:

Punctuality and good time-keeping skills.

Good customer service skills.

Attention to detail.

Team work.

An understanding of Food Hygiene and Safety, not essential, we’ll offer training.
