Office Support Assistant

What You'll Do:

Volunteer with halow!
halow supports young adults aged 16+ with a learning disability to live independent lives and become more involved in their local community. We rely on our team of volunteers who build relationships with the young people we support to engage them in a wide range of activities. We treat our volunteers with the utmost respect as they are valued members of our team and play a critical role to our success and future.

Our in-office volunteers help our fundraising team with a variety of tasks which could include organising raffle prizes and equipment, assisting with databasing, computer-based tasks and leafletting local shops and cafes. There is no minimum time constraint, all we ask is a commitment from volunteers. So, whether you can help once a week, once a month or three times a year, volunteers are essential to us. As tasks and dates available for this opportunity can vary, please do get in touch to discuss further.

Although our offices are based in Guildford, we welcome volunteers from various places, as opportunities for their support arise all over Surrey. They are not expected to come to us with any previous experience; all we ask for is commitment and a willingness to work with our young people.

Why volunteer for halow?

Our volunteers enjoy the fun of our events and can gain valuable work experience whilst enjoying giving something back to the community, taking on new challenges and sharing their skills to help others. Other benefits include:

-To try something new
-To have fun
-To give something back to the community
-To do something that you feel is important to you
-To meet new people
-To gain valuable work experience
-To take on new challenges
-To share your skills in order to help others
-To build confidence

How do I join as a halow volunteer?

To become part of the team please fill out the application form and send it to volunteering@halowproject.org.uk or if you would like to chat to us give us a call on 01483 447 960. All volunteers will be subject to referencing and any applicable level of DBS check but this will be paid for by halow.
