Our 9-12 month volunteer placements provide UK university students with the opportunity to tackle various international development issues and achieve real outcomes for our partners in Sri Lanka.
Our course specific placements are made up of three elements - an initial UK-based research element under the guidance of a Travelteer mentor, followed by the optional opportunity to put that research into practice in Sri Lanka. The final part of the placement sees volunteers back in the UK to collate their findings and reflect on their experiences.
Throughout the placement, volunteers will enjoy one-to-one mentorship from a member of the UK Travelteer team as well as working with our local team on the ground in South-West Sri Lanka. The UK-based parts of our placements are experienced remotely, with volunteers working independently on their research projects and communicating with Travelteer staff via video conferencing.
