Join the Freshers Super Angels army!
Responsible for helping over 5000 students move onto campus during Welcome Weekend 14th - 15th September 2024.

What You'll Do:

As a Super Angel you will take on a supervisor role to help manage our team of volunteer Angels during moving weekend.

We are looking for enthusiastic, happy, outgoing students who are passionate about Surrey, and can spare a weekend to welcome our new arrivals. You must posess leadership skills, be an excellent communicator, be adaptable and be able to motivate a team.

Welcome Weekend is the moment when thousands of new students join us at Surrey, arriving with cars full of luggage and saying their farewells to family members. The Students' Union provides a team of volunteers to be the smiling faces greeting brand new students for the first time. Freshers' Angels help students to move into their rooms and settle in during their first few hours of being a student - when help is needed most!

Many students talk about how they were helped and welcomed during Welcome Weekend by freshers angels. It really is a special experience and can start to shape your time here at the University of Surrey and help you feel like you are part of the Surrey Community. Perhaps you remember having a similar experience and would like to offer the same experience to Freshers. Not only do you gain a load of free food, you gain transferable life skills that make you more employable; you are responsible for the biggest voluntary activity in our year!

Friday 13th September – Briefing 1pm – 3pm

Saturday 14th September – Welcome Weekend 9am – 5pm

Sunday 15th September – Welcome Weekend 10am – 4pm

Why You'll Love It:

You will receive:

A voluntary role that shapes yours and thousands of new students time here at the Surrey University
A free hot lunch each day
A thank you party with free pizza, drinks and good vibes (in October)

Join the fun and help provide a warm welcome to assist this year's freshers move on to campus!
